Omarion Covers Jodeci's 'Come And Talk To Me'

RnB singer Omarion released a cover version of Jodeci's hit song 'Come And Talk To Me' via his twitter. When I followed the link and saw that it was a Jodeci song I did pause before playing it, as Jodeci are my favourite group of ALL TIME, but the cover isn't bad at all. O can't hit the high notes like JoJo, but the lyrics are kool and updated to be relevant to the present day!

I have a feeling there is something in the pipeline from Omarion, possibly a mixtape before a new project. I hope he leaves the teenage heart-throb vibe behind and drops some young adult music. He is actually one of my favourite performers and 'Ollusion' (to me) was a good album. Don't forget the dance tracks and moves to go along with them O!

Happy Birthday Dr Martin Luther King

Saturday 15th January marked the 81st birthday of  Dr Martin Luther king.


Martin Luther King, Jr. was an American clergyman activist, and prominent leader in the African American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for being an iconic figure in the advancement of civil rights in the United States and around the world, using nonviolent methods following the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. King is often presented as a heroic leader in the history of modern American liberalism.

In 1964, King became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his work to end racial segregation and racial discrimination through civil disobedience and other nonviolent means. By the time of his death in 1968, he had refocused his efforts on ending poverty and stopping the Vietnam War.

King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 and Congressional Gold Medal in 2004; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was established as a U.S. federal holiday in 1986.

Lil Wayne To Feature On 'Roman's Revenge' Remix

Nicki Minaj has finally got her wish, Lil Wayne will feature on a track off of her 'Pink Friday' album. The recently released Young Money president will lay down a verse for the remix to 'Roman's Revenge' which will be released on iTunes sometime this week (probably replacing Eminem).

Nicki says-

“I think that he’s definitely going to be doing a remix, as he was in jail when I recorded Pink Friday, he’s not on Pink Friday, so I will definitely want to get his little butt in the studio to do a remix right away.”


I have no doubt wayne will kill his verse! I'll post it as soon as I get it...

First Pic Of New Spider-Man

Sony pictures have released the first pic of new Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield who will take the reigns in the new Spidey prequels.

The Social Network actor appears to be a bit slimmer than Maguire, but then the movie is based before and leading up to the moment the web slinger is bitten by a radio-active spider on a school trip.

Spider-Man is not the first movie franchise to be taken back to basis, with Batman and X-Men both doing it too!

The movie is due out in 2012.

The watch dial features two Swiss quartz chronograph movements. So you have two times, two chronographs, etc... The real allure is in all the jewel work. Tiret claims it took them over five months to create the dial. The dial itself is in gold toned mother-of-pearl, with a combo of white, yellow, brown, and black diamonds. The bezel is lined with very large diamonds as well. The watch is said to have a total of about 8 carats of stones. Kayne's face has been immortalized on the dial - complete with sunglasses. Retail price for this is said to be about $180,000, and is custom made specially for each client.
 
Yeezy must be loving the fact he can look at himself all the 'time'.. GET IT???

Haiti: A Year On...

Today marks a year since Haiti was hit by a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake which, destroyed a large majority of the country, causing many deaths, diseases and people without homes.

Earthquake facts from hubpages.com-

-The USGS says this was the strongest earthquake to hit the area that is now known as Haiti since 1770.

61 reported dead and 180 people unaccounted for, mostly Haitian national staff according to UN numbers.

-Porte-au-Prince's population is 2,000,000

-The Haitian government estimates 200,000 have died

-2,000,000 people have been left homeless.

-$195 million dollars in aid has been received so far with another $112 million dollars pledged according to one report.

-Another states that $575 million has been collected via agencies like the World Food Program and UNICEF.

-The U.S. government has so far given $171 million in humanitarian aid to the Haiti earthquake relief


Over the past year there has been major fund raising done by various people and organisations with a large majority of them being in the States. The UN has estimated that 650,000 Haitians will still be living in camps by the end of 2011 sooooooooo... where is all this money going???

As many people head to the country for the anniversary (including the freshly BFF again Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel), let's hope the work continues and things begin to get better for the people of Haiti.

So Far This Week...

A press release was circulated around the internet by RnB singer Omarion who, was confessing to being a proud bisexual man. This was later denied by O and his people as they released this statement-

“The previously released statement regarding Omarion is false and was generated for negative publicity by an unknown person. Omarion will not contribute to anything negative said or done against him. Omarion respects all of his fans, no matter religion, sexuality, or race,”

Omarion later tweeted-

“Check it out 'I DID NOT RELEASE THAT STATEMENT',whatever you like is your business but I AINT GAY OR BISEXUAL,I love women PERIOD!!!!!!!”

I never believed it anyway.

As promised by Mr West on NYE, the first single from the forthcoming 'Watch The Throne' joint album hit the net! Peep it below...

David and Victoria Beckham announced they are expecting their fourth child in the summer. David who is currently training with the dirty yids (Tottenham Hotspur FC) whilst there is a break in the MLS season is clocking up major press opportunities at the moment also! Funny how (the legend that is...)Thierry Henry is also training with Arsenal during the MLS break without such fanfare. Kinda shows the gulf in class between the two North London clubs.

Who has seen this MADD GIRL dancing (if you can call it that...) to Nicki Minaj's verse on 'Monster'??? What the f**k is she doing? Why are her friends just sitting there smiling and laughing? And why is the girl in the corner just facing the wall? God only knows...

Last but not least, Drake and J Cole finally made it to British shores for a block of shows. Whilst I did not attend, I was given mixed feedback about Drakes's performances with the majority of them being that although he is a good artist, he is not that good a live performer. On the other hand, I heard nothing but good stuff about J Cole and his shows, both with Drake and his own at Koko...

I'm not really a fan of going to concerts in the UK as they are often filled with young'nz or tugz who will eventually bring the show to a premature end! I prefer smaller inimate gigs, Jazz Cafe etc or when I get hook ups for hush hush shows from my 'friends in high places'.
